Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, is located in central China. With the fame of "Thoroughfare to Nine Provinces", it is the  metropolis functioning as the important communication center. The trunk railways, expressways, waterways with Yangtze River as the backbone converging here have made it an important focal point. Wuhan is situated at the converqence of four national trunkrailways: Beijing-Guangzhou, Beijing-Knowloon, Wuhan-Jiujiang, Wuhan-Danjiangkou.

Wuhan consists of 6 national expressways including Beijing-Zhuhai, Shanghai-Chengdu all of which converge at Wuhan.

The significance about Wuhans port is that it is the largest river port in China which has extensive waterways with Yangtze River as its backbone.
